Every Week is a great week when you're with Hna. Christensen!
This week we found a pretty blue wall! And she tried getting on a big white van hahah thinking that it was a trufi heading where we wanted to go. it was hilarious haha she opened the slidey door and we see two cholitas with their family and the whole time I was confused like what are you doing??? but laughing to much to explain to her that it wasnt a trufi. ah yea our week was pretty funny. & they called us Elders so many times this week haha We really love being together and spending the longest transfer in the mission together (9 weeks) So this week was hmm AWESOME! The Espinoza Family came to church on Sunday! They are so cute! They stayed the whole time and thought it was fun, Luis has 3 attendances but this was Laura's first time! We have been blessed with lots of people to teach! We somehow ended the week with 11 new investigators! It was pretty sweet! And the best part is that each is awesome and I feel love for each one. One of them is Emilsa! We met her on Satruday knocking doors we taught her about Jesus Christ and His atonement and invited her to come to church with us ''tomorrow'' she said yea! So we picked her up in the morning! It amazes me that she was so willing and ready. She had inspired q's that helped us be able to mention some points of the restoration which we will teach her this week! She asked: How can I be sure that I can have eternal life? and How can I be sure that God's promises in the scriptures are really his Words? I bet I probably smile each time they ask really great questions like these. In my studies this week I really liked John 4:29,39 because its a testimony that can cause such a great change in others. Here an unnamed woman testifies of Christ and many do believe in Him. Despite our imperfections our witness can be inspiring. So share what you know is true! Testify to the world about Christ :) To end I really liked this quote too: '' things that enlarge the soul inevitably require our effort'' I know this is true. This week was hard but I know that God has a purpose in all and wants me to grow. 1) Gotta take a pic when you find a pretty wall 2) I love her 3) Luis and his baby nephew Cris 4) Familia Espinoza (Nicolas, Laura, Luis and baby Cris)

So this week was great! They always are when you have such a loving comp But well The highlighs of the week include again Luis Espinoza! He's seriosuly the best! He went to church this week and brought his brother and they thought it started at 7am so they got there an hour early haha ooops But he is doing really good, he told us he is so happy and motivated to make changes in his life, like not drink and he even cleaned his room haha (on sunday they taught a class on cleanliness in our homes haha) ah He is great! I turned 1 Year this week on thursday! It feels so unreal but I love it, I have a great comp she made me something funny, she was trying to make it the night before secretly but she kept laughing that I figured out what she was doing, she also made me breakfast!! :) How AWESOME is that! Crepes with buttermilk syrup and bananas. yummm & she turned 14 months this week!! We're old. This week we also had intercambios with Hnas de Pagador they are so cute! I got to be with Hna Bennet! she taught me so much about being diligent and really worry about the investigators needs! So the Tree of life activity turned out really cool, so much better than expected! Everyone played we had them all be blinfolded and hold onto a rope ''iron rod'' and the lights were off and there were distractions and all and at the end a christmas tree ''tree of life'' with candy on them ''fruit'' haha They liked it and we had a talk at the end about holding on and ignoring temptations. On Tuesday we made Tacos with the Espinoza Family! They came out sooooo good probably the best Ive made. This week we have been having some very inspired studies! I am so grateful for quiet personal study time and the revelation that I can receive through the words of God (scriptures and talks). I have felt so happy this week, content with the work we are doing and grateful for all I get to learn each day and the amazing people we meet daily that accept us in their homes and take us in as their own family! I loved this because I can say it is my favorite thing about the mission: ''As you serve you will build rich eternal memories and friendships. I know of no field which produces a more bounteous harvest of happiness than the mission field.'' Thomas S. Monson I also love this: '' I can only know partially how much Jesus feels joy each time you as His disciple help Him bring a moment of peace and joy to a child of Heavenly Father.'' Henry B. Eyring YES! ITs true, God and Jesus Christ just want us to bring moments of peace and joy to his children. Everyone needs a moment, a feeling of hope and to hear that God loves them and is there for them! Missionary work is a lifetime work and anyone can be a part of it! Photos: 1) The Tree of life activity for missionary ward activity! My comp has drawing talent! 2) The activity in action! It was so fun 3) Making ugly faces with Wilber his mom is a recent convert and he wants to go on a mission! 4) US! With the Elders in our ward and our Ward mission leader 1) Lunch time! haha my comps gets the best pics haha 2) so we maybe had a mini water fight this week ahah its too hot! 3) Anticuchos! WE had cow heart! Its really good! wow 4) When I decide to close my eyes for a few mins my comp decides its perf for a photo haha 1) What my comp made me for my year mark 2) Our study room haha which is my desk? its funny I always bug her about her desk 3) Brushing ... what can I say we do everything together, theres a funny video about this but its too big to send 4) Dogs' nap time Lo que como aqui y hoy lavamos toda nuestra ropa (garments) y limpiamos la casa. 1) Whenever we see a colored wall this happens! 2) Familia Espinoza at taco night 3) TAcos! 4) Mariano our almost pet was really sick this week ;( we covered him up aw its so sad to love dogs, hope he gets better Hola amigos!
Well, this week the 13th I turn 1 year of being here in my loved Bolivia! I seriously love it so much here! The culture, the people, all the fruit and being a missionary! This year Ive learned to; 1. Be an expert at walking around the cancha and finding just about anything! (big marketplace) 2. Know what the prices of food should be at the local tiendita (market) 3. Survive off of oatmeal haha 4. Love the cholitas 5. Listen to the spirit and act I am grateful to be out here and be able to meet such wonderful and faithful people. I have learned to listen to the spirit so much here especially in this las month. We've been able to find tons of great people to teach and be guided right where we needed to be not knowing why and then finding out why later when we meet someone or we visit someone right when they most need it! I am amazed how the simple message of the restoration can change people! We are teaching Luis Espinoza! He is the best seriously. He is a miracle and so is his family! He just gets it, even before we teach him, he has inspired questions, and wants to be baptized, he told us yesterday. He says he has seen a change in himself these 3 weeks we have been teaching him! He has felt a need to be better and not go out and he has this light on his face!!! We have only taught him the plan of salvation and the restoration! I love being able to feel the spirit and know with all my heart that we are teaching is true. That it inspires people to live a better life. That it brings peace and joy to anyone who with an open heart listens. So yeah we had such an amazing week with miracles like that! I love my comp! I feel like we really are a team, and with her I am inspired to be a better person! I love that and how happy I feel too! I am also happy that she is starting to like dogs! slowly and then all of a sudden! (I guess thats what marriage should feel like hahaha, sorry trunky moment) WE also got to meet our mission president this week! at consejo and zone conf. So he is a scripture master! I feel like I learn so much from him when he teaches us with the scriptures! I am excited to learn a lot these months! So that was my week! It was hot and cold at night! It was filled with funny moments with my comp and also miracles that brought us to tears! This gospel is REAL. I know without a doubt that This is His True Chruch! 1) Chinese food today! 2) Met some brazilians today at the cancha 3) FHE with our investigator family Espinoza at Rosemary Guaygua's house 4) Luis' first time at church!!! 1) Yummy Api and buñelos that F' Espinoza made us 2) On the curb waiting for a member to go to an appointment Water in a bag! 3) dogs! 4) english class! Our only student was Luis haha 1) At MLC Consejo with the new presidente! 2) Picture with President Montoya and his wife and Elder Olsen in the back haha 3) Matching with her 4) Our cute area! 1) My comp and Mariano Our house owners dog that loves us haha 2) Proof shes starting to like dogs! 3) This is how much fruit we can buy here with 10 dolars & Our pretty area Hey there friends and family1 So this week was really great apart from catching a cold.
So first off we have a new mission president. He is Presidente Montoya from Peru and we will meet him tomorrow at MLC. So this week it was freezing cold, even more than it usually is but its okay. After an appointment an hermana let us borrow some blankets haha to go outside to be warm, we felt so funny walking around with those but they helped so its okay. So something funny we realized while planning was that all of our investigators last names are Choque haha I dont know how that happened but Its a great coincidence. Its time for the Choques to progress haha. So here theres more dogs on the street than people to talk to, this week my comp decided to count all the dogs she saw in one day and she got to 61 before 8am hahaha its a dog city! So this week we met a ''family that is super smiley and loves to cook'' They are the Espinoza family. We mainly met with Laura and Luis they are siblings, they were cooking and we offered to help! We peeled potatoes for them! haha they made really good food I am so grateful! But mostly because they are so receptive and sweet. She asked about baptizing her baby that is around 8 months old but we explained what is the purpose of baptism, that is to clean of our sins and she understood right away, ''oh yea then I wont because my baby is innocent'' it was such a sweet moment where I felt the spirit work with her. The Ward is being so supportive with the missioanries they are implementing this new system of family orientation for the investigators that are progressing. They each get visiting teachers. So what each presidency did is set apart members that didnt have someone to visit so they are vacant to help us out. They are ready to work with us and our investigators! Its the best seriosuly, we feel so much support from the bishop and the council it makes all the difference. And lastly, This Saturday Rosemary got baptized! She is so very special to me, an eternal friend and It was such a blessing to be there for such a special moment for her! The mission is the best! When someone enters the waters of baptism it is always a moment to rejoice and remember God's plan for his children. I know its not all about baptisms its more about conversion. The real success is measured in how we are converted, how we live our lives after the mission and how we raise our families. I am grateful to say I love the mission for many reasons, I love the people, I love that my testimony of my Savior has grown and that I understand obedience so much more than I ever did. Obedience is not about how many miracles you get to see but rather how you feel. I know that when we are obedient we feel happy and peaceful. This week was epc! So many things happened I dont have time to explain.
1) we had pday today because we went to the temple! The last time we got to see Pres & Hna Hansen awee 2) we ate yummy food this week but its our lasts sweets we are starting a better diet haha 3) we saw miracles happen as we served and were brave to talk to all. 4) today we went to the cristo on the teleferico (I dont know how to say that in english haha) Our temple pictures came out cute and I tried this fruit called Chirimoya its really weird but really sweet This week in Siglo xx was grand! haha for several reasons, well to start off my comp is super cool and funny. She's from Riverton Utah! and loves to swim.. not in the mission though hehe So Siglo xx is on the other side of where I have always been and it is amazing! seriously its so great! The area is kind of big, it is mostly flatland but we also have two big hills! the hills are my favorite its so different up there but also so crowded and the view is great. Really close to us is the laguna Alalay.
So this week we pretty much lived off of Oatmeal, becuase my comp didnt have time last pday to buy food so yea it started off well we had oatmeal, sugar and milk but by today in the morning the sugar was gone and milk so it was oatmeal without sugar yumm! haha you'll see a picture. But I had a way better lunch (something like subway) . Also this week we had to break down a door becuase one of the recent converts got locked out of her house.. putting our muscles to work haha Also (sorry so many alsos) Our house is always freezing! so when we finally go out the sun feels amazing! haha I sometimes maybe heat up my hands on the warmed up walls haha This week we had to sing twice. First for the zone conference on Friday and then for a Fireside with the Stake and our mission President. For the Conference we sang a mix of I know that my reedemer lives and I love my Savior. Then for the fireside it was a Child's prayer. Both were super pretty. Its funny how many times Ive had to sing here in the mission and I dont like to sing haha At the Conference we took a picture with Hna Hansen and it was funny because we didnt tell her what we were going to do and when we leaned in to kiss her she got scared it was so funny, you can kind of see it on the picture. So, Familia Guaman. They are this cute cute family of 7 children. But the mom and dad are so cute. They are so receptive and they want so bad to get closer to God. This week they were going to travel so we were sad that we wouldnt have time to visit them but yesterday we passed by their house and saw that their truck was there meaning... they didnt travel! We knocked and they let us in! We got to read with them Alma 32 and explain. The dad understood that faith is not just believing but acting and he understood that just by reading. They came to the fireside even if late President got to meet them and talk to them about eternal families! Also just yesterday in sacrament I was able to receive so much revelation. I know that God answers our prayers sometimes in the most unexpected of ways or time but he answers and when he answers there is so much peace and joy. I loved a quote that Elder Balderrama shared in his last talk in the ward before he leave to serve in the Peru Chiclayo mission, he said, '' The lord says the most important things by simple things'' ...(I translated it so Im not sure if its ok) but I loved it and I know that is true. I am so happy in my new area and I know also know I am going home in December. Ill be home for Christmas. Love you all though, and hope you have a great week! Write me hehe Hey there my friends and family! So yea I have transfers... but its only been 3 weeks with my comp awe man haha the craziest thing though.
So this week my comp got really sick (throwing up and all that) We took her to the hospital last night and they didnt let us out. We stayed there to sleep and we couldnt leave till today at 12:30pm. It was the most frustrating time ever. We told the doctor please let us go its our only free day haha But I love my comps positive attitude through all her health trials. We joked around about escaping because my comp looks like she was in jail with her orange robe. We have funny pictures of when we were about to leave ''escape'' So today was a saying goodbye day to everyone that is leaving. My comp and I now have matching tshirts Que Viva Peru! Also last night we found out that we have transfers.... ahh Im leaving to Siglo 20 which is here in Cocha but in the southern part!! Ive never been there before so I am quite excited! I could possibly end my mission there but who knows. I will be meeting many areas there in the exchanges with the hermanas there! I am excited to get to know them better. So my favorite spiritual experience of the week was when we taught Karen Camacho. She is a sweet young mom with 4 kids. We love her family and her kids like the gospel but we had not had the chance yet to visit her until this week. We taught the restoration. She felt the Spirit! And said she loved how much we talked about Christ and God, she was so willing to pray and read the book of Mormon. I felt so good like wow the message of the restoration makes a difference in people's lives specially families. I feel a bit sad that our President is leaving. We have a new president coming at the end of the month and it will be very different but I also know it will be great! I just feel so grateful to have so many people I love here in Bolivia and the relationship I have with my mission president and his sweet wife. Well that was my week and I hope that you guys all have a great one! Love you all Well another week of miracles. This mission is a mission of miracles. Each day my comp and I are looking for the little miracles that God has prepared for us. So this week, where do I even start. Ok so we contacted a lot last week to find someone to teach and we did not find that many people but this week it was all made up. We were walking on Tuesday and I saw a woman leaning on the wall. I felt ''talk to her'' but I ignored it then again ''talk to her'' so I did a fast turn and asked her if we could share with her a card. She did not seem interested at all she looked sad and it was so hard to hear her talk but something kept saying stay longer. So my comp and I began to make random questions and ended up talking to her about how God helps us in our difficulties. Then out of nowhere she started crying and said that she was pregnant and that her parents wanted her to have an abortion. She felt so presured and worried because she did not want to. I felt the spirit very strongly because I then understood why I felt what I felt. We talked to her and I began to get frustrated when we didnt have any other way to contact her, no phone number or address... How are we supposed to help her? I began to pray to know what God wanted us to do for her and I felt just testify, teach, and reinforce her feelings to not do the abortion. We did that as best as we could and when we had to say goodbye I felt peace, I felt that we did what God wanted us to do and that now we just needed to trust in Him. We gave her a book of mormon with a dedication and our phone number, we pointed out the church and told her whatever you need please come and talk to us.
So this Sunday....we were in sacrament and Erik our ward mission leader comes in and gives me a ripped card with half of Jesus' face and our contact info on the back. He says''theres a woman outside looking for you two''. It was her! Gaby! she was holding on her lap her other baby boy. We talked to her and found out that she was brave to fight for her baby and its amazing how even though we are strangers she thought of us. God is great! All week I prayed for her to be brave and not do it, and that if it was His will that we could see her again. I am so grateful for this miracle and for the way God can work though us. I know that if we listen and obey to the whisperings of the Holy Ghost we will be able to be instruments in His hands. Another amazing miracle is that Rosemary my favorite person here in Bolivia is getting baptized this Saturday in Linde, my old area. I took a picture with her this weekend at a fireside with Elder Montoya. She is so changed and that is what makes me so happy, the light that shines in her face. I rejoice in the thought that our friendship will be eternal. This week we toook care of the Hnas from the outside: Sucre and Tupiza! They came here for tramites and we got to be with them for a day! We had so much fun with them and took them to an awesome tacos restuarant in our area. Also, yesterday no one wanted to talk to us but a cute doggy with whom we took pictures with and declared him our loyal investigator that day haha. Well that was my week! Hope you all have a great one! Keep seeking the miracles in your days. & if you notice the little ones God will let you see the greater ones. I love you all, take care Hna Campana Hey there family and Friends!
Well this week we had cambios and I had to say goodbye to Hna Geertsen and be in a trio for a day because my new comp was coming to Cocha from Tupiza and there was also bloqueos (blocades) but anyways it was fun it rained a lot on Tuesday! So Wednesday in the afternoon I went to pick up my new comp! Shes really cute! So it was funny that all of our pictures include food in it. Something super great was that we had two baptisms this week . They were Carlos and Jesus they are both super prepared and you could feel it in their baptisms. The spirit was so strong and I loved their testimonies. Jesus said that he knew this church was true. He's so sincere and I am just so grateful that God gave me the opportunity to witness their little miracle. We are working more with the members now and contacting to find people to teach. Theres a really good family we are teaching and I really hope they can progress but I also understand that everything happens in God's time. I loved this qoute I read this week from a talk named ''An evening with the Great Aunt Rose'' It says something like eternity is made up of the nows .... meaning that we don't have to wait for someday or eternity to feel joy. I loved that and it stuck in my head this week. Also we have been practicing with the other sisters and elders from council to sing a special number for our meeting tomorrow! The practices have been the best! so this week wealso made rollos de queso (cheese rolls) theyre so yummy sure will make you some when I get home and we also made pancakes for the group Well this week was another week with my comp! I seriously enjoyed every moment toghether she is so funny and has helped me grow up a lot. I love her so much.
So we had a family home evening with an investigator family and it was so fun. They are the family of Enrique Camacho a young man that wants to get baptized. His family is cute and I really want them to experience the joy of this gospel. We will continue teaching them with my new comp and see what happens. So yeah Cambios! I am staying in my area and Hna. Renovato is coming here. She is from Texas but is also mexican! It will be great. I learned so much about my patriarchal blessing this week. I know that God has so many blessings for each of us but sometimes we loose them if our faith in Him is shaken and we begin to be negligent in our obedience. I am grateful for moments of meditation and personal revelation. I know that God lives and he wants to communicate with us, He has a perfect and complete vision of our lives and wants to help us take the better path. I know that to be true with all my heart. Here are some pictures from my week. We also bought mathching rings Hna. Geertsen & I Ill send pics too and of our lunch today. Also this week when we went to the hospital to see if they would take her cast off we found out they wouldnt and other Hnas that were with us bought us all heart lollipops to feel better it was so sweet and there I also saw some dear hnas from my first ward here in Bolivia 15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father! 16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me! D&C 18:15-16 Hello family and Friends! So I wanted to start off with this scripture because it is exactly what I experimented this week. So this Saturday we went back to Linde to witness a beautiful baptism. Damar and Famila Mamani got baptized! They are people that I taught there and now they were able to enter the waters of baptism. I loved going there and with hugs and smiles greet the members and them. Damar is a very special young woman to me. I love her and her family and seeing her in white and hugging her brought tears to my eyes and after hugging her I realized she had tears too! It is the most amazing feeling ever!! It explains perfectly the scripture I shared in the beginning. So yea every part of the baptism was beautiful and uplifting. From the familia Mamani the parents got baptized but their little son once in the water got so scared and he couldnt do it. So they decided that in a few weeks it would be best if his dad could baptize him! Well another Joy of this week was skype with the family! What a blessing! I was so happy they looked good and happy! I know that this church is true and that this gospel of Jesus christ changes lives. I see it each time that there is a baptism and I feel it when we have powerful lessons. I know that the work my Heavenly Father sent me here to do is true. I love the book of Mormon, it brings me so much peace and comfort in hard times and I know it is true. I invite any of you that have not yet read it to give it a chance. I promise it will change your life like it has mine. Love you all and Till next time. Thanks for your emails . Hna Campana Pics: Well this pday we went paintballing with the zone and then to eat with the hermanas in our zone, we saw this young man eating alone and invited him to sit with us, he was really cool spoke good enlgish and accpeted visits with the missionaries! You can always do missionary work haha We also had Zone conference this week. I saw Hna Mendoza there! And the baptism pictures :) I forgot the funniest story with the trash bags and this woman in the pictures. So I was in intercambios with Hna Cristobal in their area when we contacted this woman who looked like she was struggling with her cart of big bags. It was hilarious because when she saw us approach her she got so mad and with her grouchy face said ''I dont want anything go away'' and we almost did but there was something that said stay and talk to her. We stayed and figured out what was wrong and we offered to push her cart! She finally laughing super funny said ''ya pues'' ok then haha so we did and it was so heavy but we had such a good time helping her it was funny because there were times we had to run to hurry before cars came ah okay that was it but she was cute her name is Marina Hello Friends and Family!
So this week my comp went to another area to work just till Saturday. I was with Hna Moquillaza! We got to contact a lot. The area is slowly progressing but I got to experience the joy of finding someone that wants to listen after a whole day of rejection and truly it is the best feeling in the world. So we found this woman named Jimena, she is so pregnant and she is from Potosi! She let us teach her the Plan of Salvation and was so glad that she got to learn something new. We also helped her wash her clothes and towels. Service really is the key in everything we do. We feel a greater love for those we serve and we feel happy. So this Sunday was really spiritual and we really needed that. I loved each testimony and in the relief society class the teacher taught about ''Come what May and Love it'' This lesson made me cry because these past weeks with my comp have been rollercoasters but we felt so much love from our Savior while we heard the words of that message. We felt they were personalized. I am grateful that God really does know me and he sends me the things I need in His time. So this Saturday Jhonny Condori a young man got baptized! We are so proud of him for making this decision on his own and for being so brave. We got to sing at his baptism a cover of Im trying to be Like Jesus it was cute haha then we laughed. My comp is obssesed with milk now its so funny she drinks at least 2 cups of it each day haha Love you all, take care and Dont worry be happy :) Entonces hoy me celebraron mi cumpleaños jaja y Elder Palmer hizo pie de cereza y Elder Pozo mi ex lider de distrito hizo lasagna y nosotras nos tomamos fotos con pelucas jajaj Hey there Friends and Family
So last Monday my poor comp broke her leg playing futbol... It was really sad because it hurt her so bad and we spent the rest of pday in the Hospital and in the mission home. For the rest of the week we couldnt work. We had intercambios planned already so we did those and it was really nice because the hermanas ended up helping us a lot.One of them would stay half of the day with my comp at home and the other go out with me then they would switch. But overall this week I learned so much about service. I have never served someone as much as I have this week and I really needed that. A lot of it is giving up what you want for what the Lord wants. I feel that this time is preparing me for the future to be a mom!! So I am grateful for all of these experiences. I have had to completely rely on Him to keep going somedays, I love that in 1st Nephi where Nephi breaks his bow he has to trust God more than his bow to find food for his family. I love to think about that. I often ask myself Where is your trust in your bow or in God? I really liked this scripture from my week of studying haha 1 Tessalonians 5:16-23 I based a talk I had to give on Sunday on this scripture. I talked about being ready to see God. Funny moments this week haha ok well since my comp cannot really get up from the bed I have to kill every bug that we find in our room.... turns out this week is the week that every flying thing enters into our room. I am so scared of little bugs that fly so it was terryfying to try and kill a moth hahaha then the next day a wasp flies in oh my. Then well it was my 20th bday this weekend and we couldnt go anything but it was really nice of the Hnas Temporal to come over and suprise me and make us breakfast. Ill send pictures. I am grateful for trials, Iknow that God knows all things and he put Hna Geertsen and I for a reason, I am happy she is staying and once her foot heals we can work together again. I love this work, I love the people we teach. Bolivianos are my favorite. I love my Savior for taking upon himself my worries and stresses and helping me do the things I could never do on my own. WE have a baptism this weekend coming up! ''Each of us will be called upon to act in moments that are difficult and yet defining these moments will determine who we are and what we have become'' WE also made tacos this morning with the district! WE didnt really know how and we all improvised and they came out soo good I lvoe how happy my comp looks with her guitar hahah ah She makes me laugh too much! 2 Timothy 4:7 New Testament I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. So I want to be able to say that at the end of my mission. This was one of those weeks. No one wanted to listen to us, and other things happened that brought us down at least our animos. Satan is really working with my comp and I to discourage us and to try and scare us but I have faith that it will all pass. Well this week I will focus on learning more about my Savior because I know that with him we can get through anything and we can have hope along the way. I will walk 547 days wearing his name next to mine and after my mission I will walk the rest of my life with his name on heart. I really liked this thought Hna Geertsen shared with me. I know that there are people just around the corner that we will find and that is why everything is going down in this moment. Here are some pictures of the week. We met two hermanas from Sucre that came to do tramites here in Cocha, they were super cute and happy we then took them to the airport. Today was a cool pday we played futbol, my comp is great but she hurt her ankle :( WE hope and pray we can work this week. We're worried about that. To end I shared this scripture with President Helaman 3:35 in our latest interview Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God. This is how conversion happens, step by step, President said that it amazed him that it said ''stronger in their humility'' because usually in the world being humble is considered to be weak but not in God's sight. Humility is strength is His eyes. I know that in this time I need to be more humble through these hard days and seek the light :) I love you all, have a great week Hna Campana I forgot to explain some of these pictures so 1) our pensionista always has pretty flowers on her table 3) So this is George and he lived in the US for a while so we are talking to him outside his hoouse because no one else wanted to listen to us and he was super cool, the funniest thing is that when he says goodbye he says ''ok, honnies'' hahah ah it was so funny. He is the coolest old man. 4) The hnas going back to Sucre 5) ARE THESE SEATBELTS haha we were too excited to see seatbelts 6) My comp too excited to play futbol 7) so today after getting hurt, we almost blamed this elder but it wasnt really his fault just wanted to stage a picture 8) Lunch with the Zone at Inka Terrra ITs always great to see my old pensionista, I love them 9) Trying to help her foot This week was the best! The first day we went out with the new hermanas from this cambio to contact with them and stuff! it was the best, even though it started to pour. I was with Hna Salazar from Chile and Hna Acevedo from Peru they are so cute and prepared.
I also loved to meet the people here in Cala Cala! We are teaching a few families and it makes me so happy because they are progressing so well. One of them is the family of Enrique he is a young man that the hnas were teaching before I got here but he has such a strong testimony of everything and wants so badly to be baptized! And he is being such a big help to his mom to listen to us and accept baptism. I love it! WE contact each day almost all day but it is great because with Hna Geertsen it is always an adventure! She has the craziest ideas she understands me and I learn so much from her each day. And a bonus is that she plays the guitar for me at night!!! How blessed am I! :) Pics: WEll some of these are my comps I stole them but shes in a thing where all her pics are black and white but I love how they come out! So this week a dog said helllo to me and ah I was in love with him and I told him I wish I could hug you and seconds later he was jumping on me haha ah It was so funny, he really wanted a hug. Serving cookies with my compi was fun but the real thing we did at the Presidents open house was serving pepsi and 7up floats! It was fun because no one knew what they were but they loved them. It was almost like root beer floats. This is what my lunch looks like now, its heaven seriously. My other favorite pictures are of some of the families I love in Linde la familia Mirabal and Rojas (bishop) and my dear Rosemary she has become my friend she will be getting baptized on my bday! I couldnt be more grateful when I heard she had made the decision to be baptized. Love you all take care and have a blessed week! REMEMBER TO PRAY! & SMILE :) Cala Cala :)
It will be a new experience to be an STL and honestly I am more than scared but I have hope and faith that God has something well, lots for me to learn and do. I know this is a greater opportunity to serve and forget myself. This week we had a beautiful woman enter the waters of baptism. Her name is Pascuala. She has always since her husband passed looked for the true church and when she came to church a month ago or so she did not stop coming. She told us starting the lessons that she wanted to get baptized and so we did all we could to help her be ready, little did we know that God has ways that we do not understand. We worried about her ablility to understand or the language barrier for she only speaks Quechua. We did all we could going over the lessons before her interview and prayed that the District Leader would know she is ready to be baptized. When Pascuala, the translator, a very loving member that accompanied us the whole time we taught her, and the DL came out of the interview everyone was crying and our Dl said he had never felt the spirit so strong. God provided a way for eveyone else to know she was ready to be baptzed. Here are some pictures of the baptism!! & saying goodbye to some of the sweetest families and investigators, tonight we will be visiting a few more! And tomorrow mornng we go and meet our new companions. I loved every talk in this conference but my favorite was by Elder Ulises S. Soares. When he was ending his talk he talked about how in our most desperate moments he hears our prayers and that sometimes we do not understand the ''why'' of a problem until later on. That struck me and comforted me for the trials that I had this week. I also loved a scripture ''Perfect love casteth out fear'' When we have a perfect love for God then fear disappears and we are drawn to Something great this week is that we moved, we have a new apartment! We watched conference and we had 2 investigators come, one that said her questions were answered as she listened.
I know that no matter what question we have or doubt or fear we can find peace, hope and love from our Heavenly Father and his plan of salvation. this mesage we share of love is REAL. And it brings to our hearts REAL joy and peace not as the world gives it but as He does. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 John 4:7-11 This week was a really good one
We had many great and inspiring messages from zone conference and also from Women's Conference. Some of my favorite quotes were: ''mujeres imperfectas pero con testimonios poderosos'' Linda K. Burton Imperfect women with powerful testimonies I loved this phrase because it teaches me that we do not have to be perfect to have powerful testimonies. I know that to be true. I know that God loves all his children even when we make mistakes. I know that Christ is my Savior and that because of Him I can be cleansed, I can live again and I can see them someday. We got to watch this video this week!! It brings so many feelings of gratitude and hope. https://www.mormon.org/ I cant send pictures this week because the computers but I send all my love. We are going to the temple tomorrow!! We are really excited about that My favorite quotes from this week...
'' A feeling of remorse after a mistake is a fertile soil wherein repentance can flower'' E' Richard G. Scott '' I believe that you can leave the most precios personal direction of the spirit unheard because you do not respond to, record, and apply the first promptings that come to you.'' E' Richard G. Scott Monday: Fuimos a Mexical! Cumpli 8 meses en la mision!!! Tuesday: Do we really believe that everyone needs the gospel? That was the topic of our STLs message this weeks meeting. Do we talk to as many people as we can?... Everyone has something going on in their minds and if we just open our mouths the gospel can help them. Our DL taught us the difference between knowing and understanding ... understanding is knowing something with your heart. So I also tried to make pancakes today from scratch ..this time they looked good but they were too salty or sugary. Wednesday: We contacted a lot today and found new people to teach! At night we got to visit a little boy for his bday. He turned 8! Hes getting baptized! It was real cute to sing him happy bday and seeing him all happy! Thursday: Today we contacted an old man named Luis and when we thought he wasnt interested he let us in and we got to teach him lesson 1. He knew many truths due to much study. He taught us a super cool way to explain that there is a God. We went outside and he pointed to the elextricity cables. He talked about the power elextricity has but how we cannot see it, or oxygen helps to keep us alive but we could never see it. You know it exists by the effects it leaves. Friday: Todays miracle was Rosemary! We had been praying for her all week to feel better and today in our cita she looked better she was herself. And from everything else she said I know the power of prayer is real. Saturday: Today we had tramites... they take forever. Later in the day we taught Jorge hes such a cool guy that wants to change his life since his little girl was born. I love to see that desire in people to change to start over. That is what the gospel of Jesus Christ offers everyone. Sunday: FAthers DAy here in Bolivia! Jeremy's Baptism and we had tons of food today haha This pday we had a zone activity where we all played sports and stuff. & had interminables (huge pizzas) Love you all, Hna Campana Hello Friends and Family!
Well this week was great! Let's start off with a quote that I really liked it goes something like this '' The most effective tract we will carry will be the goodness of our own lives and example.'' - Pres. Gordon B Hinckley I loved this because its's so true. The best that we can offer others is our good example, sometimes that is the best missionary work we can do. So this was my week: Monday: We bought glasses and rainboots! And also had an Fhe with the bishop's family. He is the coolest bishop and his family the cutest. We talked about the upcoming conference, had homemade pizza and played a game! Tuesday: So today we tried to visit out conversa Lili but we actually took the wrong trufi and ended up in the mountains... the view was amazing so we didnt mind! When we made it to the river we always cross to get to her house we found it with water!! haha After looking around we found a few rocks where we could jump and make it to the other side. we felt so accomplished when we did! Coolest experience of the week! Wednesday: Womens Day! ''It's amazing the power women of faith have''- Pres. Gordon B Hinckley Today was a blessed day in urb. ecologica we contacted this place for the first time and we found like 6 new people to teach just today. Everyone was really nice and let us in to teach them! My comp and I were so suprised and decided to call that area blessed barrio. Carlos Orellana is one of them. He said he had never talked to any missionaries but he is in need right now. He wants to know God! He prayed for the first time! By our 2nd visit he had explained everything to his wife! Thursday: Today we explained to someone the beauty of prayers. We pray directly to God and an intermediary to pray to him. He loves us so much that it doesnt matter what sins we've commited we are never too bad to pray to Him. Today we also started our intercambios with the Hnas capacitadoras Hna Hoffman and Hna Ordoñez! I stayed in my area with Hna Hoffman! Friday: I learned so much from her! We're here on the mission because we know the gospel makes a difference in our lives. We live it each day and therefore we can testify to others with conviction and our words have power. She taught me that if we love the people we need to be firm with them. Testify and help them make commitments. Together we read The Profile of a Prophet... go read it its a really good talk that helps us see that God does speak in these days! That statement stayed in my mind and as we taught the Restoration I was able to mention it. Saturday: I dont really remember what happened this day..... Sunday: We invited many to come today! I think that for the first time I didnt get sad that most of our investigators didnt come but I was happy with whatever happened! 2 came and many menos activos we were hoping came! I lvoed the lessons of today and the manual for this year of President Hinckley's words. To all missionaries he said: ''I cannot promise you fun. I cannot promise you ease and comfort. I cannot promise you freedom from discouragement, from fear, from downright misery at times. But I can promise you that you will grow as you have never grown in a similar period during your entire lives. I can promise you a happiness that will be unique and wonderful and lasting. I can promise you that you will reevaluate your lives, that you will establish new priorities, that you will live closer to the Lord, that prayer will become a real and wonderful experience, that you will walk with faith in the outcome of the good things you do.'' PDAY TODAY: we went to play wally and eat Mexican food with the zone! |
